Why do you do this?

People do get somewhat confused... until they go for a ride.

So how much do you charge?

I'm amazed how many people don't understand "free". Yes, the ride is free... no, there are no hidden charges. I'll acknowledge that it does cost me money to run this service, but what I get out of it is fun. People easily spend lots of money amusing themselves, but for some reason once other people are involved people want to break it down to compensation. How about this, you amuse me, I'll amuse you, we'll all have a good time and be happy. Favorite transfer a domain internet service

Do you accept tips?

People want to show their appreciation and often times when you are only in the car for 5-10 minutes the only way to do this is to put a few dollars in my pocket. I will accept tips, but I'll be quick to say that it isn't necessary. If you have the time and the need to show me how much you like the service, spend the money on a thoughtful gift, or even better make me something. Exercise your creative side and I'll really be tickled. He did so to get a good grade,- essay writing,- It is very important.

Where did find get the car?

My friend Jeremy found the car on ebay and knew I was looking for a fun car to play around in. I was the highest bid, but the reserve was never met so I didn't actually win. A few trips down to Maple Valley, WA and I owned the car. Jeremy promised that if I bought the car he would buy me a cab sign and he is a man of his word. optimum free family tree search website

Who owned it before you?

The Locatelli family. They owned it since 1979. After the last child, Megan, was done with it, it was time to sell her... to me. They took it on many cross country trips racking up around 300-400k miles, although it's a new speedometer so it's impossible to know exactly.

Does it run well?

Very well actually. The engine is a recently rebuilt Chevy 350 V-8, the transmission was rebuild even more recently. I had the carburetor rebuilt, put in a new water pump, and had various other odds and ends tuned and tweaked and now she runs like a champ!

I do some of the work myself, but for the big stuff I take her to Dr. Don's Automotive in Ballard. I am very happy with these guys.

So you say she's famous?

Yup, in 1990 the car was leased to KCTS to do a funky mini-series on Seattle hot-spots. The centerpiece of the show was a red Checker cab with a Free Ride sign on the top... 13 years later she's blue, and she's a real free cab!

What's a Checker?

The Checker Motors Company of Kalamazoo MI... founded in 1922, built cabs until 1982.

Who is this Jacob guy?

I don't know, you tell me! He's on Orkut, Friendster, Tribe.net, My Space, Nerve, and, of course, his own web site... Looks like a geek to me. :-)
