Of course it costs money to run a taxi, but all hobbies cost money. People
keep trying to turn this around and figure out how I can turn this into
a money making venture, but they are missing the point completely. When
you think of it as a hobby, it makes a little more sense to people. No one
expects to make it rich with model trains or by skiing down a mountain...
my hobby just happens to be a service too.

Costs
People get very excited by this idea and want to help out. I appreciate the generosity, but I try my best to make it very clear that money isn't why I do this. I'd also hate for someone to think they are not as fun as others because they choose not to give money. Truthfully, I'd prefer a creative gesture of appreciation, and try to encourage that wherever possible.
